District Tournament

The Falcons season came to a close with a loss to the Kickapoo Chiefs in the semi-finals at Ozark High School.  Glendale put up a fight and didn't go down easily taking Kickapoo to 3 sets; 19-25, 25-20, 14-25.

Falcons close out regular season with a WIN!

The Falcons finished their regular season tonight at Hillcrest by wearing pink to honor Breast Cancer survivors.  Glendale was able to take the match in 2 sets, 25-10 and 25-16.  District play begins on Monday in Ozark, MO with a match against the Parkview Vikings at 7:30pm.

Falcons roll over the Bulldogs...

The Lady Falcons rolled over the Rolla Bulldogs in 2 sets, 25-19 and 25-22 for a conference win.  The Falcons take on the Hillcrest Hornets in their last regular season and conference match on Thursday at Hillcrest.

Kickapoo gets the win...this time.

The Chiefs downed the Falcons in 2 sets tonight, 25-22 and 25-16.  The match was a "Pink Out' with donations going to the American Cancer Society.  The Chiefs also honored our teammate, McKinley, on their warm up shirts.

Falcons put up a good fignt...

The Falcons put up a good fight against their cross town rivals Kickapoo, but just couldn't pull out a victory, losing the first set 22-25 and the second set 16-25.  We may get a second shot at them in the district tourney though!

Glendale beats Lebanon in 3 sets

Springfield, Mo. (For OzarksSportsZone.com)  -- Playing on the road is never an easy task in the Ozark Conference. The Lebanon Lady Yellowjackets found that out as they traveled to Glendale on Thursday in a matchup of conference opponents.

These two teams had played recently in a tournament at Lebanon on Saturday. Glendale took that match in two sets and the Lady Yellowjackets were looking for revenge.

The opening set was controlled from the beginning by the Lady Falcons.  They jumped out to a quick lead and took the first set 25-17.

The Lady Yellowjackets did not roll over after losing the first set.  Lebanon started with a good lead and finished the second set strong winning it 25-16.

“They did a great job staying in control,” said Lebanon head coach Brittni Jessen.

The third set was neck and neck until the midway point where Glendale pulled away and won it 25-17.

“We really adjusted after the second set,” said Glendale coach Stephanie Bates.“We played more like we did in the first set. This is the first game this season we knew what to expect. We just played Lebanon over the weekend and it helped them play more loose and relaxed.”

“We gave up too many runs and made unforced errors that added up,” said Jessen. “We are moving forward and looking towards our next match.”

Lebanon Volleyfest, Lebanon MO

The Falcons played in the Lebanon Volleyfest and played better than they have in a few matches.  In pool play they defeated Poplar Bluff 25-20, 25-19 and split with Helias Catholic 21-25, 25-19; lost to Hermann 25-27 and 19-25, but beat Lebanon 27-26 and 25-16.  We ended up 3rd in our pool and had to play Lindbergh in the first round of bracket play. We lost 14-25 and 18-25 in a match in which we just couldn't seem to get it together. The Falcons play at home against the Lebanon Yellowjackets in a conference matchup on Tuesday, 10/9.

Glendale wins!

The Falcons beat the Zizzers tonight in conference play taking the first and third sets 25-14 and 25-17 after dropping the second set 17-25.

Bulldogs upset...

The Central Bulldogs beat a Falcon team tonight that just didn't look like the team that had played the night before at Webb City.  Central took the match on set scores of 11-25 and 21-25.

Falcons defeat the Cardinals

Glendale lost the first set 22-25, but came back to win the second and third sets 25-22, 25-11 and take the match. Emma Brand led the Falcons with 16 kills and Jane Kickham added 10 kills and 3 serving aces.
